What is checked
The name, the register the licence sits in, the licence number as that register states it, and whether the licence was active on the day we looked. Nothing is taken from a self-description.
What is shown to you
The date of the last check and the register it was made against. A professional whose licence has lapsed or been suspended is withdrawn from listings rather than shown with a warning beside it.
